Reach out for a free 15-minute consult, join the waitlist if I'm fully booked, or sign up for occasional notes on the practice. No pressure, no follow-up sequences, no algorithms. Just people, on purpose.
Most people start with the consult. It's free, fifteen minutes, by video. We'll talk about what you're hoping to work on and figure out whether I'm the right fit. If I'm not, I'll tell you — and where possible, I'll point you toward someone who is.
By video. Confidential. No charge. We'll talk briefly about what you're hoping to work on and whether the way I practice matches what you need. I respond to consult requests within two business days.
My caseload is intentionally small. When I'm closed to new clients, the waitlist is how I track who's waiting and how to reach you when space opens. Average wait varies between two weeks and three months depending on the season. You'll get a real human update when I have space — not an autoreply.
One email a month, sometimes less. New workbooks. Upcoming groups. An occasional essay on something I've been thinking about — non-monogamy, kink as a relational practice, the politics of private-pay care, why "sex therapy" sounds clinical and shouldn't have to. No tracking pixels. No sales sequences. Unsubscribe with one click, always.
This is a private-pay practice. I don't bill insurance, which means there's no diagnostic code attached to your record, no third party reviewing what we talk about, and no utilization manager deciding when our work should "end." It also means I can keep my caseload small and my rates fair. The trade-off is real: it costs more upfront. The four-tier sliding scale on the Services page is how I keep the door open.
All major credit and debit cards via IvyPay (HIPAA-compliant, no card numbers stored on my end). HSA / FSA cards are accepted for most services — coaching is not always reimbursable, so check with your administrator first. ACH and Zelle by request for package payments.
Single sessions: card on file is charged at the end of session. Packages: paid upfront with the option to split into two payments (no fee). Sliding-scale arrangements use the same card-on-file structure at the agreed rate.
Life happens. If a sliding-scale tier stops working — in either direction — we talk about it. Cancellations more than 24 hours out are free; less than 24 hours is full session fee unless we can reschedule that same week. Emergencies are emergencies; we'll figure it out.
If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide a monthly superbill you submit yourself. This requires a diagnostic code, which I'll discuss with you transparently before issuing. Many clients choose not to use superbills for the same reasons they chose private pay in the first place — the choice is yours, every time.
Federal law requires me to provide a written estimate of the cost of your care before you begin. You'll receive yours at intake. Estimates are good-faith projections, not invoices — and if a bill is more than $400 above the estimate, you have the right to dispute it.
In-person sessions are offered one day per week, on Wednesdays in Albany. Virtual sessions are available throughout the week. Evening availability is limited and held primarily for couples and polycule work. Saturday morning groups occasionally run during program seasons.
For everything that isn't a consult request — referrals, press, speaking, community partnerships, workbook wholesale, or just questions — these are the channels.
Once you send a consult request, the process is short and clear. No hidden steps, no surprise paperwork, no aggressive intake. Just a few quiet checkpoints before we begin.
I read it within two business days and reply with two or three consult time options that fit what you said about availability.
Fifteen minutes. You tell me a little. I tell you how I work. We figure out fit. If I'm not it, I refer you elsewhere.
No pressure on the call. Take a day, a week. If you want to begin, I'll send intake paperwork and a first session option.
First session is 75 minutes for couples / polycule, 50 minutes for individuals. We orient together. We get to work, on purpose.
